Colour my june

I am joining in with an idea created by Flis to capture the colours of Winter during the month of June. We experienced glorious rain last week and with the Winter sunshine out again, I have been hibernating in the garden. So for the first week of June, my winter colour is inspired by my garden.

The idea is to find a rainbow of colours during the winter month. Here, I see a peek of  LATE Autumn colour on my jasmine vine and chinese tallow tree. Most of all, I see flowers and growth from plants that cowered from our long, hot Summer. The passionfruit vine is heavy on it’s trellis which needs reinforcing, the roses are blooming along with the rosemary, violas and petunias. The winter wattle is showing all her beauty and scent against a blue sky, and the first mandarin from our three year old plant is ripening. The lemons hang heavy over our front wall from our neighbour’s tree. I forgot to photograph it, but our patch of lawn is a luscious green.

With clear, blue skies comes colder nights. Finally the fire is lit, scarves are worn, and ugg boots are treasured. Flannel sheeted beds, cosy pjs and warm milk and cinnamon before bed. Cuddles under doonas and early morning seat warmers for the car journey to school.
