Christmas Tree Ornaments

Since  having children, we have had a tradition each year, where we each purchase an ornament for the Christmas Tree. It saves me from going crazy and buying all of the new and pretty ornaments that come out each year, and it slows down the number we put on our tree which is quite full and eclectic already.

In all honesty, it probably means we replace the couple of ornaments that invariably and accidentally get broken, and only add a couple more each year.

It is fun to try and remember who chose which ornament when we put the tree up. I often wonder if I should have labelled each one discreetly to give back to the children when they have Christmas trees of their own. We always tease homme for his lack of taste in choosing ornaments and he wonders why his always seem to end up displayed on the back of the tree.

This year we were drawn to the felted and knitted variety. I have plans to make some felt ornaments with the girls in the holidays, but time has not allowed it as yet. Here is what we chose to add to our tree in 2010:
